Bristol & South Gloucestershire's Emblem
Each County has an emblem, whether it’s a symbol from folklore (Lincolnshire Imp) or historical symbol (Lancashire's Red Rose and Yorkshire’s White Rose).
Bristol & South Gloucestershire have the Sea Stag. This is a mythical creature which represents the ancient royal forests of the Severn Valley and the seafaring tradition of Bristol.
The stag's head and the royal crown are superimposed upon a fish's tail with a roundel showing the sea.
This is the badge that the girls wear in cloth form and adults as a metal pin on their badge tabs.
Badge tabs can be worn by all adult leaders, and range in colour from Raspberry (for Unit Helpers) to light blue with a coloured band at the top to represent each girls’ section, such as yellow for Brownies or dark blue for Guides. Commissioners and advisers wear a plain blue tab. These are well illustrated in the Trading services catalogue
“Essentials”.
