ADULT SUPPORT, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Adult Support is an important section of Bristol and South Gloucestershire County organisation. It includes:

• The Training of Guiders, Young Leaders and Commissioners through provision of a Calendar of Training opportunities throughout the year.
• The administration of the Leadership Qualification.
• The support of Trainers, their ongoing development, and the training of new (prospective) Trainers.
• Co-ordination with the Advisers and Outdoor Team to offer support to Unit Leaders.

The Co-ordinator of Adult Support’s job is to head the team of several people who together want to support Guiders, in their role as Unit Leaders.

The Training Team is always ready to answer requests for training in your District or Division, whether for small fireside training in someone’s home or for a larger group in hired premises. Commissioners, or Division Training Co-ordinators, can get in touch with the co-ordinator to arrange such events.

Please contact Adult Support if you are considering becoming a Trainer in Guiding. Because of the imminent retirement of some of our Trainers, we would be glad to welcome new people. Already we have 6 new Prospective Trainers who are all now working on the NVQ in Training and Development.
