Arts Adviser

Are you looking for ‘crafty ideas’ for you or your girls?

Your County Arts Adviser has a wide range of ideas of things to make and do for a variety of themes, festivals and occasions.

She can visit Districts and Divisions and provide hands-on sessions for Guiders, Unit Helpers and Young Leaders.

Unit visits can be arranged and or sessions at events for both adults and girls.

As long as you give sufficient notice your Arts Adviser will be happy to help you with your crafts.

The County has a new resource – a Pyrography (wood burning) Unit with 2 irons working from it. This is available to borrow to use in your Unit at a cost of £5 a time just get in contact with your Arts Adviser. Full instructions are included and it works on untreated wood, cork and leather items. It is ideal to use for decorating gifts and souvenirs e.g. egg cups, wooden spoons, picture frames, etc. or for naming wellie pegs for camps and holidays.

Past events: Junk musical instruments with 200 Brownies, Christmas crafts with Trefoil Guild members, sessions at Thinking Day, International and Brownies 90th Birthday celebrations, ‘Crafts to do at camp’ ideas, Senior Section sessions at camp and the decoration of a Guiding Christmas tree for a public display in Broadmead Baptist Church.

The County is hoping to buy more equipment to use in the County. Any ideas on what you would like are welcome.
