  • Assists the Training Team, to enable disability awareness to be included in trainings.
  • Facilitates information to the County and the Region.
  • Offers advice, support and encouragement to Guiders working with girls with a disability or with a disability themselves, to enable every one to achieve their potential within Girlguiding.
  • Encourages everyone in Girlguiding Bristol & South Glos. to understand the need for equal opportunities for members with disabilities or other needs and to support and encourage the individual and her family in achieving this.

What is classed as a disability?

Within the Guiding Association all medical conditions are considered as a disability to ensure we are covered by insurance.

Disability/Medical Condition Census Form – this should be completed every year alongside the main Census Form. The form should be completed for Girls and Guiders with a disability/medical condition. At the bottom of the form there is a section you can complete if you require assistance/advice. If you do, please complete the form with your contact details.

When a girl joins your unit with a disability or medical condition you can contact the Members with Disabilities Adviser for help via email.
