Kate Allchorne

Hi, my name is Kate, and I am responsible for Programme for GirlguidingBSG. Being in charge of programme means I’m here to provide the support and guidance you need on everything from DofE to Residential, International, Queens Guide and Inclusion.

A little bit about me.

My journey with Girlguiding began when I was a Brownie in Henleaze. Over a 25-year period, as I enjoyed Guiding so much, I made my way up the ranks from Brownie to Young Leader, Assistant Guide and now Brown Owl.

I stood down from my main role in Guiding a few years ago but haven’t quite managed to step away and have helped on an ad hoc basis with a local Guide and Explorer Scout group. As I am now taking on this role, I’ll be staying in the family for a little longer!

Outside of Guiding, I am a Senior Sister in a large NHS Hospital and also the mum to 3 children, a cat, a dog, and husband.

Fun fact about me: During lockdown I’ve finally managed to finish a puzzle of my favourite character, Tigger, which was given to me as a 21st birthday present!
